Greetings, and welcome to the Season 3 Premiere of my "Who Would Win" Series and it is going to be Bigfoot vs The Yeti.
Now, this match up is particularly interesting in a sense that both Bigfoot and The Yeti are portrayed very differently in all forms of media. ranging from the games, movies and TV shows, it is almost impossible for me to choose a "True Form" for both sides. So, I decided to go with the more traditional portrayal of their legend, which is "Folklore"
That being said, I will cover the base stats such as Strength, Speed and Durability, their legend, and, for the first time in my series, Eye Witnesses Reports.
So, that being said, let's begin
Bigfoot
The Legend of Bigfoot is about a 6-9ft tall Primate who wanders around the forests of North America. Also known as The Sasquatch, The Swamp Monster, and the Yowie (Australia). Bigfoot is relatively simple to understand.
Born and grown as, well, an upright ape, it is seen around forest areas, farmlands and even outside private properties, often causing great fear amongst the population. Though generally docile, Bigfoot can be quite dangerous to some unfortunate travelers, sometimes even consuming them in the process.
Since the story has earned it's place in history, Bigfoot has appeared in numerous forms of media such as Games, TV Shows, Magazines, Comics, and Films.
That is the story of Bigfoot's Origin, now, let's see what this Hairy Ape is capable of.
Strength
Bigfoot, obviously, is a muscular Ape that is quite powerful in the strength department. Here is a list of Strength feats that Bigfoot is capable of.
- Can smash through doors
- Break through brick walls
- Can destroy a car
- Evenly matched with a Brown Bear. Brown Bears are strong enough to pull down large deer
- Can lift heavy objects and throw them away at great distances
Speed
Unfortunately, Bigfoot's Speed is difficult to measure. That said, it is safe to assume that because of his size and the proportions of his body, Bigfoot should be quicker than a regular human Athlete..... Unless your at Usain Bolts level of speed XD!!!!!
Durability
Interestingly, Bigfoot's Durability is exactly like that of a Gorilla. While this may seem weak, Gorilla's themselves are quite durable. Scaling a Silverback Gorilla with Bigfoot, it is easy to assume that Bigfoot would at least be able to withstand alot of punishment such as broken trees swung at him or even heavy punches from his opponents.
Eye Witness Reports
Bigfoot is very well known for not only his appearances but for the countless amount of eye witness reports from people who accidentally came across the beast. Here is a handful of notable witness reports and stories that.... well, you will see for yourself.
- The Patterson-Gimlin Film: This roll of footage shows Bigfoot walking across a large area and looking back to see the camera. While highly controversial, the footage itself turned out to be a hoax, which ended up being Bob Heironimus wearing a "Bigfoot Suit" and filmed it just to make the legend more well known.
- The Lady and Bigfoot's House Greeting: In a rather light hearted story of Bigfoot, A woman once had an encounter with the beast. However, instead of a dangerous, scary encounter, the beast actually spoke in English and told the Woman if she wanted her garden to be maintained for the day. The Woman, strangely enough, said go for it, which also resulted in Bigfoot handing the Woman a bunch of flowers.......... That is just funny XD!!!!
- Campsite Horror: This story is more about a group of Teenagers camping in the middle of a dense forest. They celebrated a friends birthday, only to heard a loud, thunderous roar in the distance. Afterwards, the Teenagers ran away, leaving their belongings behind, and were obviously scared to death..... Which is quite interesting, because this encounter was in "Halloween Week" XD!!!
- Family of Bigfoot: A man and his daughter were wondering around a forest with their two dogs. Suddenly they spotted three hairy figures across the distance. Turns out they just saw a Family of Bigfoot walking along the trail.
- Bigfoot giving a sad girl a handkerchief and a hug: With what has to be one of the most heart warming stories of Bigfoot, a young girl just had her parents pass away. Mourning in the dense forest, the little girl was so sad, that a Giant hairy beast felt pity for her.
Juvenile Bigfoot Sighting: A picture of a Juvenile Bigfoot was shown around the world. While controversial, it is worth noting that numerous analysts have indeed denied the photo as "Genuine" as it looks like a person in a hairy suit going crazy......... pretty funny stuff indeed
Weaknesses
Bigfoot realistically is, well, realistic in the world of physics and science. While yes, Bigfoot is just a legend, the appearance of Bigfoot does show some drawbacks.
Firstly, Bigfoot is far from as quick as you would think. Infact, it very rarely showcases anything that makes it faster than a regular human.
Secondly, while Bigfoot is huge, it never quite had any notable durability feats to make it more or less durable than a silverback gorilla.
And Finally, Bigfoot..... Lacks any form of weapons. While yes, throwing stuff around is impressive, Bigfoot's arsenal is mainly his arms, legs and his teeth.
Despite this, Bigfoot is a relatively intimidating opponent to anyone who faces it in combat.
The Yeti
The Yeti, or "The Abominable Snowman" is a legendary snow beast that wanders around the Snowy Regions of China, India and other Asian countries. Generally a fearsome beast, The Yeti is very well known for it's aggression towards humans. Though sometimes, oddly enough, The Yeti is also playful as well..... Talk about making up it's mind XD!!!!
Anyway, The Yeti is not just seen as a Hairy Beast of Folklore, it's immense popularity made it go into the world of media such as Games, TV Shows, Film, Comics Magazines...... I wonder who also has this resume also XD!!!
That is the Yeti's General backstory. Now, let's see what the Snow Beast is capable of
Strength
Strength Wise, The Yeti is generally shown to be very strong. Here are a couple of Strength feats for the Yeti
- Can lift up large boulders over it's shoulders. Depending on the size of the boulders, they can range from 3-16 tons worth of weight
- Is said to be able to destroy a house
- Can regularly open a cave door... which is a large rock, in order to go in and out of it's home........ The Flintstones anybody? XD!!!
- Can rip apart trees and bamboo.
- Can throw around humans like ragdolls
- Can use large bones as weapons and swing them around very quickly
Speed
Speed Wise, The Yeti is.... interesting. Some cases make it that the Yeti is quick enough to catch up to a running human. Other cases make the Yeti a lumbering, slow moving creature. Since I put combatants at their maximum potential, I believe the Yeti is indeed quick enough to catch a human at full speed.
Durability
Durability is quite interesting for the Yeti. Of course, being a ape like creature, a very large one at that, the Yeti can scale to other Gorilla's. What's more, because it lives in the Himalayas and other parts of Asia, The Yeti is also quite adaptable to the environment. Durability wise this is also important, because some creatures would utterly die while in dangerous conditions.... Except the Yeti :).
Eye Witness Reports
The Yeti is a staple legend in both Asia and the World. Countless sightings of this legendary beast have been passed down for generations. Here is a handful of Sightings of the Yeti.
- Expedition Scare: An expedition team was sent to track down the legendary Yeti. While in the middle of a blizzard, they saw two, 22ft tall figures across the distance and realized they were fleeing from the team. One of the men said that the creatures had white hair covering their entire body. Afterwards, the team saw a long trail of footprints that were over 2 feet long.
- Household Murder: In a rather, gruesome story, a family were invaded by a large Yeti. Sadly, no one in the house survived the ordeal. The witness of the scene was a local bartender who somehow, by coincidence, saw the creature flee from the house with blood soaked all over it's body. The Bartender then saw inside the house, with entrails of the victims littered around the floor, and large claw marks on the walls.
- The Dancing Monster: From A Gruesome Story to a, well, a kid's story, A group of men were on a ski trip at the Himalayas, what they saw was a Yeti who started dancing around for no reason............. Maybe it is auditioning for a show :D!!!
- The Yeti Ice Cream Store: In a relatively fantastical but entertaining story, there is a place where you can buy Ice Cream made by the Yeti.
- Yak Slaughter: In a gruesome story, a man once owned over 12 yaks. One night, he heard a thunderous roar while sleeping, and went outside with his gun, only to find out that he saw 3 of his Yaks mutilated by a 15ft Yeti. The man did try to shoot at the beast, but forgot to put ammunition into the gun. The Yeti suddenly ran away.
- Cave Story: A group of people, around 20-30, once entered a snow cave to see what they could find inside. Unfortunately, what they found, or actually heard, was a nightmarish sound. Eventually, they all ran out, only for one of them to look back and see a Yeti, at around 20 ft tall, chasing them down. Thankfully, everyone survived, and the Yeti somehow lost interest overtime.
Weaknesses
The Yeti is, well, an animalistic beast. While very scary and powerful, the Yeti is just as weak to all means of damage as what everything else is.
It is also worth noting that the Yeti lacks any form of weaponry unless it came across rocks or even dead carcasses to use as a weapon. Simply put, in a general fight, The Yeti is only having it's arms, legs and mouth for it's main means of attack
Despite this, The Yeti was, and remains to this day, one of the most iconic creatures in folklore and legend.

The Verdict
Bigfoot vs the Yeti is a particularly interesting match up. But looking at this in a more detailed approach, it is pretty one sided in favor of The Yeti.
Firstly, while Bigfoot is big (No pun intended) The Yeti is HUGE!!!!! We are talking about a giant primate who is almost as tall as a house vs Bigfoot who is literally 8-10ft tall. The size difference is immense.
What's more, both creatures are in the world of reality in terms of biology. And in the animal kingdom, in an all out brawl, size matters. So not only is Bigfoot going to get squashed by the Yeti, it is going to flee from the Beast even before the fight starts, which also begs the question, can Bigfoot outrun the Yeti to fight another day? Actually, no.
While Bigfoot and The Yeti are not known for being very fast, Bigfoot rarely runs as fast as a human. The Yeti on the other hand may have the same Achilles heel but it does have the advantage of having longer limbs and longer legs for bigger strides...... This in turn makes it that the Yeti is certainly capable of catching up to Bigfoot should it be a chase. But of course, Bigfoot running from the Yeti counts as a loss anyway so it's a lose-lose situation.
In short, The Yeti simply outmatched Bigfoot due to it's immense size and it's greater physical capabilities.
