Theoretical Scenarios: What if Leone used a Ranged weapon in combat? And what Weapon type would suit her perfectly?

Greetings and Welcome to a New Series called "Theoretical Scenarios" where I create a theory of specific types of scenarios that involve the question, the event and the result. This particular Scenario will be focusing on Leone from Akame Ga Kill using ranged weapons and to find out which weapon type would perfectly suit her for combat.


Now, to be clear, Leone has indeed thrown rocks and a spear in the Akame Ga Kill Manga before. However, I would like to broaden the question by adding specific weapon types and their capabilities and finally, give out my opinion on which weapon type would be ideal for Leone.



First, before we look at the weapon types, we must look at Leone's physical capabilities. The only stats that matter here are Strength and Speed since Ranged weaponry generally requires Reflexes and Draw Strength to use to maximum effect. However, other weapon types do tend to require Strength over Speed via specific functions and physical requirements.


So, without further ado, let's begin.




Leone's Strength.

Leone's Strength is way above Peak Human level. This means she is capable of producing wonders using Brute Force. Here is a handful of Strength Feat's for Leone.

Leone's Tower Punch Feat

• Has punched Pillars with such force, they move over 15 feet across.
• Took down a Danger Beast, which is comparable to the size of a T-Rex and a Giganotosaurus. That said, the Danger Beast would be heavier than those two dinosaurs because after Leone knocked it down, the sheer weight caused a huge crater into the ground  
• Can punch through men with such force, her attacks can create massive holes in their body.
• Has lifted a huge rock above her head without activating Lionel
• With Lionel, Leone once again lifted a boulder and smashed it to the ground and killed Dorothea  
• Has snapped Dorothea's Neck while in mid air very quickly
• Has choke slammed an assassin with such force, it killed him
• Threw Akame towards Bols while in Mid Air
• Has held a shield and is strong enough to block a multi city level blast from Purgatory's Self Destruction.
• Has punched Minister Honest with such force, she smashed his skull like a squashed watermelon. Mind you, Lionel was destroyed at that point so Leone did this with her own Strength.
• Punched a tower in mid air with just a single hand. BADASS!!!! 

Leone's Muscle Memory Speed.

 






















Leone's Muscle Memory is superhuman. What's more, her Speed in Combat is extraordinary, with Leone being able to do very quick strikes and reacting to lightning level speeds. Here is a list of feats for Leone's Reaction and Combat Speed

• Scales to Akame and Tatsumi. Both of which can dodge bullets, deflect hyper sonic attacks and even lightning
• Leone has dodged General Budo's lightning, which is faster than regular lightning.
• Is quick enough to catch Bols off guard 
• Has eventually outpaced Dorothea's reaction timing. Dorothea, earlier in her encounter with Leone, managed to block most, if not all of Leone's attacks.
• Like her strength feat, Leone was quick enough to snap Dorothea's neck. This also makes Leone very fast in terms of reflexes
• Dodged multiple attacks at once and never got scratched.
• While being fused with Lionel, Leone, with no effort, caught bullets using her hand and even dropped them to the floor. 

The Ranged Weapon Types.

 Now, this is where the fun begins. We now know what Leone is truly capable of with her amazing Strength and Speed, so, we now look at the specific weapon types and find out which one will eventually mix well with Leone perfectly (Just like Bread and Butter XD!!!)

Bow and Arrows: Bow and Arrows are highly effective ranged weapons. Bows generally require alot of draw strength to use effectively. However, some bow types such as the short bow do not require a substantial amount of strength for a full draw. That said, Strength still helps anyway for Short Bows.

As for the much larger types of Bows such as the English Longbow, they are monstrously powerful. A full drawn longbow can shoot an arrow effectively at 180m. However, there are records of the Longbow's range effectiveness reaching over 300m long. Pretty dangerous stuff.


 Finally, Bows can be used to fire... Fire arrows, which can burn their enemies to a crisp. Even documented reports of Poisoned arrows and Diseased Arrows were used in warfare, making the bow a very versatile Ranged weapon.



Javelins "Throwing Spears": Javelins are throwing spears that are famously used by Spartans, Romans and Vikings. While other civilizations have used Javelins effectively, the techniques of the Spartans, Romans and Vikings in particular showcases the Javelins being used to maximum effect.

Basically, Javelins of course, require great strength and superb accuracy to be used effectively. While not quite as accurate as a Bow and other Ranged Types, Javelins have an edge that they can also be used for melee combat. 











Firearms: Firearms such as Pistols, Machine Guns, Shotguns, Sniper Rifles Etc are pretty easy to use in combat. While not particularly demanding in the Strength Department, it is worth noting that the amount of Recoil Reduction does require alot of Strength to prevent a gunshot from keeping the wielder off balance. Accuracy wise, Firearms are more accurate than medieval weaponry, giving them better reliability in the accuracy department thanks to scopes, iron sights and, in the near future, tracking systems. Cool Stuff :D!!!

Of course, Firearms are also very powerful weapons in any situation. Even a pistol is more than enough to take down virtually anything if it is in the hands of a skilled marksman.

There is one more type of Firearm, the Musket. While Effective, the Musket requires a long reload time in order to fire once more. Unfortunately, a Musket also lacks the accuracy of the more modern fire arms, making them practically obsolete.... Oh well, least it was a gun for it's time :)


Throwing Knives/Axes: Knives are quite literally, one of the most versatile tools ever created by man. They are used for everyday lives such as cooking, hunting and of course, warfare. Knives, when thrown, are very dangerous projectiles and are usually  tricky to block and even dodge when thrown at full force. What is more, unlike Bows and Javelins, a skilled combatant can throw knives while on the run very efficiently, making them a very underrated and very dangerous weapon to utilize in ranged combat.







Of course, Throwing Axes on the other hand do alot of damage. While not quite as hard to block and dodge as a thrown knife, Axes, when thrown, can do much greater damage potential because of the sheer weight and the amount of force produced. Oh, and true fact, Thrown axes in history have been documented to score multiple head shots, sometimes with the victim using a shield. Hence, Thrown axes can be used to kill a shielded opponent with the right angle and velocity........ Dangerous indeed.









Slings: Slings are by far, one of the oldest and easiest weapons to use in combat. Slings are always carried with a pouch of stones and other small projectiles and are swung at tremendous velocity. The amount of kinetic energy produced by a sling is so great, it is capable of denting Iron Armor. Also, Slings can be very accurate if the wielder has the co ordination and skills to create wonders such as striking the eye of an opponent.... Deadly Stuff







Blowguns: Blowguns are essentially a long tube, usually made of bamboo or tree bark, to shoot out small projectiles such as darts. Blowguns are very simple to use, and their accuracy is marvelous, capable of piercing through exposed joints in armor. Sometimes, Blowgun users such as the Aztecs, Mayans and even Japanese Shinobi/Ninjas use Poison Tipped Darts to deliver deadly results.


 

Crossbows: Crossbows are used for Long Ranged Combat much like the Bow. However, the difference in penetration is significant. You see, while Crossbows do not actually have the same quick draw capabilities of the Bow, it makes up for it with it's devastating armor piercing capabilities without the use of substantial Strength. This in turn actually makes the Crossbow an easy choice for combatants. However, a huge downside of the Crossbow is the reload time. Generally, a Crossbow's reload time depends on the design, sometimes it can take 4 seconds but other Crossbow types can take 20 seconds to finally reload the weapon with a bolt..... Pretty slow indeed. That said, A Crossbow is still an effective weapon regardless of the drawback....

 

Of course, the Chinese Repeating Crossbow is loaded with a Bolt clip that allows it to fire Crossbow bolts quickly and effectively, though the accuracy is less impressive than the standard Crossbow.
















The Outcome for Leone and the Weapon Types.

So we have seen the Ranged Weapon Types, now, let's see what Weapon Types are suitable and are not suitable for Leone.

Bows and Arrows?: The Bow and Arrow would be an excellent choice for Leone. In fact, because of Leone's superhuman strength, she would use the Bow far beyond it's capabilities with tremendous firepower and penetration power. What's more, if Leone ever fired a bow at full power, because Leone is powerful enough to punch a tower, and lift huge boulders, the damage output would be off the charts. It is also very likely that the arrow would not just pierce through one, or two, but three guys in a straight line entirely, and this is not even including the Longbow, which.... Oh my goodness, Leone using an English Longbow???????? WOW!!!!!!!!!!!! The damage output, plus the superior accuracy thanks to Leone's sharper senses, would be a very, very scary weapon to go up against.

So a Bow and Arrow? Perfect for Leone.


Javelins?: Javelins are particularly interesting for Leone. In the Manga, Leone has used a spear and threw it with great velocity. They do have the edge over the bow with the simple fact that it can also be used as a Melee weapon. Unfortunately, Leone is already a melee combatant with just her claws and hands anyway. But...... because Leone is superhumanly strong, a Javelin used at Close Range would be quite deadly because the power behind Leone's Thrusts would be capable of killing even an armored opponent instantly.

But wait, what about Range? Well, Leone throwing the Javelin would also make it even scarier because her Strength alone would not only increase the range distance of the Javelin, but also the penetration velocity would almost be 10 times greater than an Olympic Athlete. So Javelins would suit Leone very well.


Firearms?: Now, this is a surprising answer. Firearms are very effective weapons...... But, for Leone? No. 

Now I know what you may be thinking but remember, Firearms do not require a substantial amount of Strength to reload or fire.... Except for a fact that the recoil would catch the wielder off balance.... But in the Hands of Leone, a Firearm's Recoil would be greatly reduced. But wait, what about the bullets? Well, Leone firing a Firearm doesn't change the bullet velocity at all. In fact, she would be firing the weapon just as well as a well trained soldier would so there really is nothing to talk about in terms of Firearms for Leone.

But yes, Firearms as a weapon would be suitable for Leone even though they would act as any firearm would.


Throwing Knives/Axes?: Now Throwing Knives and Axes would be a very good choice for Leone.


Because of Leone's physical capabilities, the thrown knives and axes would deliver substantial damage and would be thrown at much greater speeds. They would be swung with such speed, it is possible they would match a bullet speed entirely...... Woah, this is a much better weapon type for Leone than I originally thought :D!!!!!



Slings?: Now Slings alone require hand and eye co-ordination and strong kinetic energy to use effectively. In the hands of Leone? A PERFECT CHOICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why is that? Because Leone herself has the physical capabilities to not only use a Sling, but also, produce legendary wonders. 


Just imagine Leone throwing a sling at a Knight? It would utterly penetrate right through the plate armor...... I mean, woah, this weapon alone would make Leone, the most powerful slinger in existence.....


Blowguns: Blowguns are very simple to use. For Leone? They would not actually change much because they only require "Breath Strength". A dart is already fast enough to be effectively used in combat. So the Blowgun would still be a good choice for Leone, just that nothing is changed at all.


Crossbows?: We have the crossbow. Unfortunately, despite it's great firepower, at the hands of Leone...... It doesn't change anything at all. While yes, because Leone would indeed reload a standard crossbow quickly due to her superhuman reflexes, firing the bolt doesn't change anything. The Crosbow would utterly be, the worst weapon that Leone would use for Long Range Combat...... Sorry Crossbow fans, at least it is a good weapon anyway :).

On a more optimistic note for the Crossbow, at least Leone would reload it much more quickly than a soldier would, that counts as something right? ;) 




So which weapon type is the perfect choice for Leone? 



Well, we have reached the final choices. The Weapon Types that made it are:

• Bows and Arrows
• Javelins
• Throwing Knives/Axes
• Slings  

Of the Four Weapon types used, I personally believe, that the best weapon type for Leone to use is.....










The Sling









So, why did I choose the Sling over the Bow, Javelin and the Throwing Knives/Axes? 


Well, simply put, not only would a Sling be much more easier to use for Leone, her physical capabilities make it that the Sling's kinetic energy output and penetration would be vastly superior to anything that even the Bow would hope to match. While yes, The Bow would also be a superb choice for Leone because of it's versatility. But remember, Leone herself is a very strong assassin. So a Sling would not only be perfect for Leone thanks to her Strength.... but also her Co-Ordination and her Reflexes. 


Even the Throwing Knives,Axes and Javelins while great choices for Leone, would lack the kinetic energy output to match the Sling entirely. 


Simply put, Leone would throw a Sling with such force, as said before, she would penetrate a Knight's Plate armor entirely...... Even going so far as to penetrate possibly 5 armored knights in a row.....That alone would make the Sling the quintessential weapon for Leone.

What's more, because Leone's Strength is Superhuman, being able to punch a Tower in mid air and even lift large boulders, Leone would even use, I kid you not, Cannon ball sized projectiles with a bigger sling and throw it with monstrous, devastating power and speed. 

Literally speaking, if Leone threw a cannon ball sized projectile with the Sling, it would be traveling at over Bullet Speed, reaching Lightning Speed entirely........... That would be so badass, Leone would be a living Siege Weapon..... She would destroy Castle Walls or even destroy Army Tanks with that kind of power with the Sling.  



So in my opinion, The perfect Range Weapon for Leone is the Sling.

The Winner is the Sling :D!!!!
