Greetings and welcome to a new edition of my Who Would Win Series and it is going to be James Raynor from Starcraft vs Isaac Clarke from Dead Space.
For this match up, I will be looking at the stats for both Raynor and Isaac. I will also go into the weaponry for both sides, hax, armor and feats for both combatants.
For Raynor, I will mention the vehicles and his command ship the Hyperion as a source for Info. However, in this fight, Raynor will only be restricted to just using his Terran Marine armor and Terran Weaponry.
As for Isaac, I will focus on his canonical appearances and even mention his vast array of equipment and weapons. And yes, Isaac will only use his iconic RIG armor for this fight. And yes, Isaac will be using the fully upgraded RIG armor in this fight to help him reach his maximum potential.
So without further ado, let's begin.
James Raynor
The backstory of James Raynor is extensive. Long Story short, Jim Raynor was born on the planet Shiloh and was taught how to hunt and shoot by his grandfather. Raynor lived the first 18 years of his life at his homeworld. Eventually, Raynor joined the Confederate Army and participated in numerous conflicts that were the Guild Wars. Eventually, Raynor was promoted to being the Marshall at the Mar Sara Colony and was tasked to protect civilians from dangerous threats.
Sometime later, Raynor encountered a new species of alien that somehow became more aggressive towards the population of Mar Sara, this resulted in a Command Center being infested by this alien race, which is later identified as the Zerg. Raynor, disobeying orders by the Confederacy, destroyed the Infested command center and was sent to prison for his crime.
However, moments later, the Zerg annihilated the planet and most of the Terran military evacuated, or showed no retaliation against the Zerg. However, a faction known as the Sons of Korhal, led by Arcturus Mengsk, managed to save a portion of the population of Mar Sara and even rescued Raynor from prison in the Process.
Eventually, Raynor and the Sons of Korhal successfully defeated the Confederacy at a cost. Sarah Kerrigan, Mengsk's second in command, was left behind at New Gettysburg to the Zerg. This led to Raynor deserting the Sons of Korhal and eventually formed the faction known as Raynor's Raiders while Mengsk became the Emperor of the Dominion.
After numerous conflicts against the Dominion, the Zerg and the Protoss, Raynor has established himself as one of the Koprulu Sectors most prominent figures. Eventually, Raynor has defeated Kerrigan, who was now officially the Queen of Blades, and cured Kerrigan from her infestation. While Kerrigan eventually reverted back to her Queen of Blades form, Raynor and Kerrigan, after a moment of hesitation, managed to form an alliance to defeat Mengsk and eventually, joined forces with the Protoss to defeat Amon, the Fallen One.
After Amon's defeat, Raynor lived a happy, peaceful life and eventually, was never seen or heard from again.
That is a detailed background of Jim Raynor. Now, let's see what he can do.
Armor
Raynor has worn a couple of Terran Marine armor over the course of his lifetime. For this fight, he will use his latest CMC-400 Powered Combat Suit. A modified version of the regular Terran Marine CMC combat suits, Raynor's armor is outfitted with NBC shielding, Life Support and a external speaker in the lower right side of the left gauntlet.
Strength
While wearing the suit, Raynor has accomplished incredible feats for strength. This is a list of some feats for the suit's capabilities for strength.
- Raynor held up a blast door long enough for himself and Kerrigan to leave the room. Raynor held up the door for over 10 seconds without any form of effort.
- Can scale above Regular Terran Marines.
- Can match Tychus Findley's strength. Tychus can grab a jukebox and swing it to the ground with little effort.
- According to a report, a marine wearing armor can backhand a man's head casually, scattering brain matter.
- Can carry huge weapons that are otherwise too heavy for someone not wearing the armor.
Speed/Reactionary Speed
Despite it's size, Raynor's armor is very flexible and nimble. Here is a list of some feats for Speed and Reactionary Speed
- Can match Marine speed. Marines can run faster than a Olympic level athlete and even run backwards faster than a human running forward
- Can react to attacks by Protoss Zealots. Zealots are capable of charging towards their enemies with lighting fast speeds.
- Can shoot down multiple Zerglings
- Shot Tychus Findley in the head after turning around.
- Can shoot down flying Zerg, Protoss and Terran units.
- Escaped a lab facility that held a Zerg Protoss Hybrid. Hybrid can travel at very far distances in a short time span.
Durability
Raynor is extremely durable. Infact, it would come to no surprise that his armor is more durable than regular Marine armor. Here is a list of feats for durability
- Can tank attacks from Zerglings, Hydralisks, even Ultralisks. Ultralisk are tanks of the Zerg army and are armed with huge kaiser blades that can shred through armor like butter.
- Can tank attacks from Protoss warriors. Protoss are armed with weapons that can slash through armor like butter and even create Psi Storms, which can decimate battalions of troops.
- According to a source. Raynor's armor is so durable that small firearms, conventional weaponry are utterly useless.
- Can shrug off Gauss Rifle bullets. Gauss Rifle's are the marine's signature armament and their uniform weapon. These rifles can pierce through Zerg, Protoss and other Terrans. Though the rifle's capabilities do get lower when facing more powerful units, they are still very effective weapons.
- Tanked Siege Tank attacks. Siege Tanks are armed with Cannons that can destroy multiple units at once. The Arclite/Crucio Shock Canon packs more firepower, delivering even more devastating blasts.
Weaponry
Raynor is armed with weapons that are perfect for any situation that comes at him. Here is a list of his most used weapons in combat.
Six Barrel Revolver: Raynor's Revolver is a powerful pistol capable of killing his enemies with just one shot.
C-14 Impaler Gauss Rifle: Raynor carries around a Gauss rifle that is capable of piercing through armor. However, Raynor's rifle is special since it does more damage than a regular Marine's rifle can dish out, making the capabilities of his rifle more impressive. The bullets of the rifle can reach supersonic speeds and, in alot of areas in Starcraft, can even shoot bullets in space.
HEV "Commando" Rifle: This Rail Gun, or Sniper Rifle, can pierce through even the toughest Zerg armor. It can even one shot Zerglings, Banelings and can even shoot out the Mk 12. Penetrator, which is capable of wiping out a swarm of Zerg units in a straight line.
Plasma Gun: Raynor can use a Plasma Rifle to deliver devastating results. The Plasma Rifle is so powerful, it can one shot a siege tank.
Grenades: Raynor has used Grenades to destroy a group of Terrans, Zerg and Protoss. They are highly explosive and incredibly dangerous. Other grenades also include Flash Bangs, Concussive Grenades and even EMP grenades, which can short circuit electronics.
Vehicles.
While Raynor is going into the fight with just his suit of armor and weapons, he has driven/flew a couple of Terran craft. They are:
Vulture Bike: During his days as a Marshall for Mar Sara, Raynor has driven his trusty Vulture bike. Vulture bikes can travel at very high speeds, even outpacing flying craft and Zerg. They can also fire out Fragmentation grenades, which are very effective against Light armored units.
Hyperion: Raynor's Flagship. The Hyperion is a colossal Battle-cruiser that serves as the mobile base for Raynor's Raiders. It is armed with Anti Air and Anti Ground cannons that can decimate an entire army and fleet. It is also capable of emitting an EMP field Generator, can Travel at Warp Speed and even fire a Yamato Cannon which is powerful enough to destroy a moon sized space station.
Abilities/Hax
While Raynor lacks any form of magic or support abilities, he does have one specific ability that was granted by an Item called the Chrono Rift Device. The Chrono Rift is a field that puts everyone inside it in a time slow for a short period of time. While the Rift itself is immensely powerful, Raynor can still feel the effects of the Rift should he be in the field's vicinity
Skills
Raynor himself is a highly skilled marksman, a tactically brilliant commander and all round, an experienced combatant that has participated in numerous battles over the course of his lifetime. Infact, he himself stated that he has faced the Zerg for two lifetimes, has even experienced first hand combat since his early days in the military, and was stated by Zeratul, one of the oldest Protoss to exist, to be as resourceful as anyone he remembered.
Feats
As the Commander of Raynor's Raiders and an experienced combatant in general. It comes to no surprise that Raynor has accomplished legendary feats that made him a formidable and respected commander. Here is a list of feats for Raynor.
- Over the course of Starcraft, Raynor has defeated the Zerg, Protoss, the Confederacy and Dominion forces on the regular basis.
- Tactically outsmarted Protoss Excecutor Selendis.
- Has defeated Kerrigan in battle numerous times. Kerrigan is the Zerg's most tactically experienced leader, second only to the Overmind.
- Defeated Tychus Findley without his armor...... and Raynor was not even trying in the situation.
- Has defeated numerous Dominion forces who boarded the Hyperion
- Helped Kerrigan escape from the Umojan facility.
- Managed to rescue Mengsk from execution by the United Earth Directorate.
- Helped Kerrigan kill Mengsk.
- Has tactically and successfully helped the Zerg and Protoss defeat Amon.
Weaknesses
While Raynor himself is a badass combatant and commander, the key thing about his accomplishments is that he is mostly a commander. While he does have alot of experience in front line combat, Raynor himself lacks alot of feats that are otherwise restricted to cut scenes and certain levels. It is also worth noting that Raynor has no form of regeneration should a Medic not be present to heal his wounds or if there are no health packs to pick up.
Also of note, Raynor is a human, and he can die from normal means of attacks. A Well placed head shot, if it can pierce through his helmet, can certainly kill Raynor. It is also worth noting that his suit, while incredibly powerful, is susceptible to more powerful attacks from an opponent who can deliver sufficient force to eventually break through it.
Finally, Raynor's more powerful attacks run on a cooldown. While his Penetrator Round Shot is devastating, once Raynor used it, he has to wait for the cooldown to finish in order to use it again. And finally, Raynor's extra equipment such as Grenades, the Plasma Gun and the Chrono Rift Device run on a set limit, should he over use them, they will eventually run out and Raynor will have to continue the fight without them until he picks up ammunition or in the case of the Chrono Rift, another device to use.
Still, despite his flaws, Raynor is a true badass. He has accomplished legendary feats in the Koprulu Sector, has tackled the very worst of the galaxy head on and never gives up without a fight.
Isaac Clarke
Isaac Clarke is a former Ship Systems Engineer who worked for the Concordance Extraction Corporation. He was part of an emergency response unit of the USG Kellion sent to investigae the USG Ishimura after a communications failure. After arriving at the Ishimura, Isaac experienced a terrifying truth, the USG Ishimura was home to human corpses that are reanimated, turning them into Necromorphs. Isaac eventually survived the ordeal, and even found out the truth of his girlfriend Nicole, who was revealed to be dead before Isaac arrived.
Three years later, Isaac was placed in a mental asylum after suffering from dementia while experience illusions of Nicole who constantly taunted Isaac. Eventually, Isaac once again experienced another Necromorph outbreak in the Sprawl, and finally dealt with Nicole and found a new love with Ellie Langford afterwards.
Unfortunately, the relationship didn't last, as Ellie left Isaac for a man named Robert Norton, who so happens to be a real jerk to Isaac. After finding out that Ellie had gone missing at Tau Volantis, Isaac joined Norton and Carver to rescue Ellie, only to once again be involved in another Necromorph outbreak. Eventually, Isaac, with the help of his comrades, managed to destroy the Markers, and the Brethren Moon.
That's a background for Isaac Clarke. Now, let's see what he can do.
Armor
Isaac wears a Rig, "Resource Integration Gear". Rigs in Dead Space provide many benefits to the wearer. Features for the Rig is a health bar attached to a cord that is placed on the spine of it's wearer and a oxygen tank to allow the wearer to enter the vacuum of space for a period of time. It is also worth noting that all Rig suits have magnetic boots that allow the wearer to walk around areas while in the vacuum of space. And finally, Rigs can eventually be upgraded to use thrusters while in space, providing greater mobility to the wearer.
Rigs also provide the wearer an inventory that can hold numerous items and weapons at once, a map system for navigation and even an video/audio playback device that is used for communication.
Strength
Isaac, despite being a human, is an extraordinarily strong human. Infact, Isaac has demonstrated that he can tackle huge Necromorphs and even environmental hazards. Here is a list of Isaac's feats for strength.
- Can crush Slashers with his punches. Slashers are strong enough to pry through elevator doors and ventilation grates.
- Can break out of a Slasher grab and decapitate it.
- Can throw down and kick a Lurker. Lurkers are very tough Necromorphs that can tank blasts from Isaac's Plasma cutter.
- Can break away from a Divider's grasp
- Managed to open a falling excavator door using his shoulder
- Stomps on corpses and Necromorphs with such strength, they are literally crushed into small pieces.
- Overpowered Stross and eventually jammed a screwdriver through his head.
- Tackled Danik.
Speed
Isaac is a very fast combatant. While not exactly a speedy type, Isaac has a couple of speed feats that are impressive for human standards. Here is a list of his speed feats.
- While in vacuum, Isaac can jump from one area to another very quickly.
- Isaac can outrun necromorphs, who are faster than humans in terms of travel speed.
- Dodged a point blank Javelin Shot
- Avoided a falling train.
- His suit thrusters can catch up to a speeding train.
- Avoided gunfire
- Can combat roll while wearing his armor.
- Rappelled alongside a cliff and avoided falling rocks while climbing.
- Can disarm his opponents before they could pull the trigger of their weapons
Durability
Isaac is tough, very, very tough. He has endured countless situations and encounters that would otherwise destroy a human being. Here are Isaac's amazing feats for his durability.
- Can tank hits from Slashers
- Tank hits from Large Necromorphs. Large Necromorphs are powerful enough to destroy blast doors and even bullet proof glass.
- Was impaled in the shoulder and his hands by a Javelin Gun. Isaac not only survived, he pulled out the javelins from his wounds with minor difficulty and continued to fight.
- Stood infront of a thermite explosion that can melt through metal.
- Was grabbed by the Hive Mind. A Necromorph the size of a mountain. Isaac was swung around and fell to the ground with such force, it would have killed him. Isaac survived and continued fighting
- Was sucked inside a huge Necromorph and yet Isaac still survived after it spat him out.
- His Armor is resistant to a Puker's corrosive bile. Puker's bile can melt through steel.
- Smashed into a ship, broke 4 metal grates and crashed into the floor. Isaac did not lose any health afterwards.
- Got smacked down a mountain by a large Necromorph, tumbling down in the process.
Weaponry
Isaac is a Swiss army knife in terms of weaponry. For the sake of this blog, I will include his most frequently used weapons. It is also worth noting that all of Isaac's weapons have an alternate fire mode that gives them superb versatility. Also, believe it or not, most of Isaac's weapons are actually engineer tools. Here is the list of Isaac's weapons/tools.
211-V Plasma Cutter: The signature tool of Isaac Clarke. The 211-V Plasma Cutter is a handheld tool used for cutting mining operations and for maintenance. In the case of combat purposes, the Plasma Cutter is used to dismember Necromorphs and even humans.
It has an alternate fire mode that allows the Plasma Cutter to switch from a vertical to horizontal mode. The Plasma Cutter fires very accurate bolts of ionized plasma energy, which, on impact, delivers serious damage.
It is also worth noting that Isaac eventually used another version of the Plasma Cutter known as the Makeshi Plasma Cutter, which is virtually the same tool as the 211-V Plasma Cutter aside from the added covers while it is deactivated. It was also used for Medical Surgeries.
SWS Motorized Pulse Rifle: The Pulse Rifle is a military grade three barreled assault rifle with an extremely fast fire rate and a large magazine ammo capacity. It fires low caliber rounds that travel in hypersonic speeds. While the rounds themselves do deal damage, it is the fire rate that makes the weapon even deadlier.
The Alternate fire mode for the Pulse Rifle is that it can be mounted to the ground and be used as a turret that fires around Isaac's position in a 360 degree arc.
C99 SuperCollider Contact Beam: The Contact beam is a heavy engineering tool designed to pound and soften raw, hard minerals into smaller pieces for more practical use. The Contact Beam is very unique that it uses kinetic force to fire it's projectiles. While the tool has a slow fire rate, a charge up time in order to fire the projectile, and a relatively low ammunition capacity, the damage output it delivers more than makes up for it's drawback.
The Contact Beam is so powerful that a single shot can destroy a Necromorph into pieces.
The Alternate Fire mode for the Contact Beam allows it to release a small radial ground based shock wave that can deliver devastating results to Necromorphs.
Handheld Graviton Accelerator/Force Gun
The Force Gun is one of the most powerful devices used by Isaac. Designed for mining operations by providing blasting power beyond conventional explosive charges, the Force Gun is used for precise terraforming applications. It was also used to blast through rocks and debris during mining operations into smaller pieces and even deflect wayward rocks while in space operations.
It fires a kinetic force that is so powerful that Necromorph limbs are severed. It is also can be used to push back large objects towards Necromorphs. Basically, this is a shotgun without shells.......
The Alternate fire mode for the Force Gun is different in two games. Firstly, it fired a grenade that, on impact, created a large blast radius that, when fully upgraded, will decimate Necromorphs within the blast radius. Secondly, the newer fire mode creates a narrow beam which is used to cut through multiple necromorphs. It uses only one round of ammunition.
IM-822 Handheld Ore Cutter Line Gun
The Line Gun is very similar to the Plasma Cutter except that it is much larger with a wider beam arc for it's projectiles. The Line Gun can fire Plasma beams in a horizontal line, delivering deadly results to Necromorphs.
It's alternate fire mode is a timed Mine. When detonated, the mine explodes and creates a display os lasers, cutting through everything it comes in contact with.
PFM-100 Hydrazine Torch Flamethrower
The Flamthrower is a tool used by miners for extraction of minerals and ores. It was later repurposed as a practical weapon used during the Aegis V11 and Titan Station outbreaks.
The Flamethrower unfortunately has a very low damage output. However, when fully upgraded, the Flamthrower eventually packs a punch. It can be used to immolate large numbers of Necromorphs and is especially effective against smaller types of Necromorphs.
The Alternate Fire Mode for the Flamethrower is different in Dead Space 1 and 2.
In the First game, it unleashed a fireball that explodes on contact. Originally an Orange flame, should Isaac upgrade the Flamthrower, the fire changes into a blue, which is hotter than orange and yellow fire.
In the second game, it fires a lit canister and detonates on its own or immediately after it makes contact with a Necromorph.
RC-DS Remote Control Disc Ripper
The Ripper is designed to hack through rocks into smaller pieces during mining operations. However, the tool alone is a very dangerous device to use. Infact, in the hands of less skilled miners and engineers, using the Ripper is an accident waiting to happen.
The Ripper fires a remote controlled sawblade that is then held by a gravity tether. When used, it can hack Necromorphs into smaller pieces very quickly, making it a very effective weapon for dismemberment.
The Alternate Fire mode for the Ripper is that is fires the blade without the gravity tether in place. The sawblade is then fired with such force, it can cleave through multiple Necromorphs. Thus, this makes the tool a very versatile asset for Isaac to use.
Javelin Gun: The Javelin Gun is a weapon that fires... well, Javelins.
The Gun fires titanium spikes which are fired with tremendous accuracy and speed and can even pierce through steel and pin necromorphs to walls.
The Alternate fire mode for the Javelin Gun is that it electrifies the titanium spike which can deal electrical damage to a group of Necromorphs and Isaac if he gets too close to the spike. When fully upgraded, the spike will unleash a shockwave after the electrical effects wear out.
Seeker Rifle: The Seeker Rifle is basically a Sniper Rifle. It's used for long ranged combat that gives Isaac supreme ranged capabilities. Its secondary fire mode is an enhanced zoom, giving it more precision and range.
711-MarkCL Rivet Gun: The Rivet Gun is the latest answer to fire as fast as you can pull the trigger hardware by Timson Tools. It is designed for temporary patch jobs and hull repairs.
The Rivet Gun fires rivets that are capable of pinning Necromorphs to walls, giving Isaac more opportunities to dismember them even further. The term "Fires as fast as you can pull the trigger" sums up the tools function. The Rivets themselves pack a punch in combat.
The alternate fire mode for the Rivet Gun is different in the games. Firstly, it initially fired 5 rivets at once, even more, it can ricochets from walls and deliver unpredictable damage to Necromorphs and even Isaac if he is not careful.
The newer alternate fire mode discharges all rivets instead of just five. Making it more powerful.
Customized Weapons
In Dead Space 3. Isaac eventually created weapons with different combinations. These range from Pistols with a shotgun function, assault rifles with a sawblade alternate fire mode and even shotguns with automatic fire capabilities.
Abilities/Hax
Aside from Weapons, Isaac is also very versatile with abilities. He has two main abilities that provide hax and even help him out with environmental hazards. The two abilities Isaac has are.
Stasis: Isaac is armed with a Stasis Module. The Stasis Module allows Isaac to create a stasis field to whoever he aims at. When in contact, the stasis field puts the object, or a nercromorph, into a time dilation, giving Isaac more time for options. It is a very, very powerful ability for any situation. Infact, the stasis module can be used while in the vacuum of space, and even slow down Leapers, who are necromorphs that can leap at great distances very quickly.
Kinesis: Kinesis is a very powerful ability. It allows Isaac to manipulate objects at will and even help Isaac solve puzzles, repairs, recharging power to certain areas and even use kinesis to shoot out sharp objects and necromorph limbs for damage. It can even manipulate explosive canisters to deliver explosive results. Oh, and even stasis canisters exist as well XD!!!!!
Skills
Being an Engineer, Isaac is very knowledgeable with equipment and tools. And also, Isaac is an expert at fire arms and has grown his skills overtime in Dead Space. It is also worth noting that Isaac is very resourceful in any situation that is thrown at him. And he is also very efficient in melee combat. What's more, Isaac is also a skilled hacker. Oh, and Isaac is a master of dismemberment......... Awesome!!!
Feats for Isaac Clarke
In order to finish Isaac Clarke's info, we must look at his accomplishments first. Here are Isaac's amazing feats.
- Survived the Ishimura incident
- Has survived the Sprawl Outbreak
- Has survived the Tau Violantis Outbreak
- Defeated Necromorphs so many times that he doesn't fear them anymore.
- Defeated the Hunter. A Necromorph that is incapable of death from conventional combat.
- Defeated the Hive Mind
- Killed Nicole, which broke Isaac's connection to his hallucinations.
- Destroyed the Markers
- Defeated the Brethren Moon............. Isaac Clarke killed a moon sized Necromorph............ That is the most badass feat ever done in a science fiction based game.
Weaknesses
While Isaac is a very strong combatant and a very resourceful one at that, unfortunately, he is just a human. Infact, he is easily killed by sufficient force, and he can be one shotted by Necromorphs with a killing blow. What is worse, Isaac's weapons run on ammunition. If he runs out of ammo, he will have to resort to his melee attacks or outright run away from his enemies to fight another time.
It also doesn't help that Isaac's Stasis Module runs on a set amount. Should Stasis be overused and become depleted, Isaac cannot use Stasis anymore unless he either goes to a Stasis recharge station or by picking up more stasis packs.
Also, while in the vacuum of space. Isaac runs on oxygen air cans. If the air cans run out, Isaac will suffocate to death.
And finally, Isaac's RIG, while very durable, is very susceptible to damage overtime. If Isaac's health meter is depleted, Isaac will die.
Still, Isaac Clarke is a badass. What is cool about Isaac is that he has accomplished feats that involve nightmarish situations and impossible odds stacked against him..... Isaac achieved the impossible and should be remembered as a hero who is not even a soldier........

Conclusion
Jim Raynor vs Isaac Clarke may well be one of the coolest match ups I ever analyzed. While the fight itself is indeed epic. What's more..... This is very, very close. On one hand, Raynor is far stronger and more durable, and has more firepower than Isaac. However, Isaac can counter this with his superior mobility, speed, wider arsenal and hax....... This is going to be hard to decide.
What is difficult here is where the fight will take place. If this was in space, it is close, however, I give the edge to Isaac because of one thing that will help him out here.... Vacuum of Space. While Raynor himself will put up a great fight, Isaac will eventually shoot out a window that will put both Isaac and Raynor into the vacuum. While Isaac will most definitely survive it thanks to his oxygen tank and thrusters for flight.... Raynor.... will not survive at all. This will most definitely help Isaac win the match up if it was in a space station or a starship.
However, in other outcomes, the fight would not even involve the Vacuum of Space at all. So, in certain situations, the fight is much, much closer. Let's look at the comparisons for both Raynor and Isaac.
Raynor definitely has the better firepower than Isaac. What is better, Raynor's armor is so durable that it is going to take alot of force and firepower to put him down for good. Isaac is literally fighting an uphill battle against Raynor should he go for a straightforward approach................... Or will he?
You see, Isaac never goes for a straightforward approach in combat against someone who he sees as a more intimidating, more powerful combatant. Isaac's instincts will help him make clever decisions, thus, he will resort to becoming more creative in the situation. This will even the playing field substantially.
What is better for Isaac, all of his tools are more versatile than Raynor's. Even some of them, like the Pusle Rifle, can use unpredictable alternate fire modes that can catch Raynor off guard.
Raynor will eventually adapt to Isaac's creativity, however, he will first have to tag Isaac in order to achieve greater results. This is where the fight get hugely intense. Isaac will most likely get a couple of shots from Raynor's Gauss Rifle. And, should Raynor use his Commando Rifle on Isaac, it will be a huge blow to Isaac that it may well end the fight......... But Isaac has a trick here..... Stasis.
Isaac's Stasis Module will definitely give him a huge leg up against Raynor, who would be in a time dilation and become completely defenseless. This gives Isaac plenty of options to finish Raynor off.... But there is a problem.
Raynor's armor is covered with durable materials around the joints, this will help Raynor keep his limbs intact while he is in stasis, giving Isaac far less options to kill him......... However, his helmet visor on the other hand is much more vulnerable.
In Starcraft, Marine helmet visors are shown to be pierced by Hydralisk Spines....... If Hydralisk spines managed to pierce a Marine helmet visor, I am certainly confident that Isaac's weapons will penetrate Raynor's visor.... This will definitely kill Raynor.
So, it appears we have a winner. But wait, what about Chrono Rift?
Well, Chrono Rift does help Raynor against Isaac because it has a far bigger area of effect than Isaac's stasis module and it's effects are more powerful like slower movement.... but, the Chrono rift doesn't have the ranged capabilities like Isaac's stasis fields. Infact, Isaac's stasis fields can be fired hundreds of meters from Isaacs position whereas Raynor's Chrono rift is fired from just a couple of meters from his own position.
So in terms of hax, while Raynor's Chrono Rift has a bigger radius, Isaac's stasis field is more accurate, and has superior range in comparison.
And finally, Isaac has Kinesis. With Kinesis, Isaac could just simply throw large objects at Raynor, which will definitely help Isaac's chances of opening a killshot..... What is even better, Kinesis never runs on ammunition or energy, making it a crucial ability in this match up. What is worse for Raynor, his armor, while very durable, can be compared to General Warfields armor, who was pierced by a large steel bar..... Isaac has used large steel bars to penetrate Necromorphs......... That alone will give Isaac the advantage in this match up.
So, thanks to his mobility, his resourcefulness, his superior hax and his versatile arsenal, I believe that Isaac Clarke will prevail over James Raynor in a brutal, epic, action packed fight.
The Winner is Isaac Clarke
Next time on Who would Win......
